About us

Canada Guan Yin Tang Culture Centre is a non-profit organization located in Toronto, Ontario. It aims to advocate the teachings of Master Jun Hong Lu’s Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door and applying the wisdom cultivated through studying Buddhist concepts in everyday life. Guan Yin Citta Charma Door presents profound Buddhist knowledge and concepts in a way that is easy to comprehend and incorporate into one’s daily life. Through these studies, one also cultivates their mind and heart, purifying negative thoughts and energies, and encouraging a positive outlook in life, channeling Guan Yin Bodhisattva’s merciful and compassionate nature. In addition, the centre also promotes a healthy lifestyle of vegetarian diet, both as an act of compassion to all living beings and to minimize impact on the environment. Yet another of its principle objectives is the cultivation of one’s innate kindness and compassion – emphasizing the importance of giving rather than receiving.

Canada Guan Yin Tang Culture Centre is open daily from 10am to 6pm, and regularly hosts events and activities for the local community. These include group study sessions in Buddhist concepts, vegetarian cooking classes, a weekly vegetarian meal, as well as monthly video seminars. Events are all offered free of charge to members of the community. Vegetarian cooking classes, in particular, are especially popular activities among both the public and the centre’s volunteers. These events allow one to take a moment away from the stress of daily life and simply enjoy the act of learning how to make a new vegetarian dish. In addition, the centre offers a peaceful environment where one can filter out any stress or burdens of their life and concentrate on reciting Buddhist mantras and the cultivation of their heart and mind.
